Image Optimizer

Quickly and privately convert your images to web-performant ones right in your browser. Drop an image and download a dramatically smaller file for faster page load times.

A note on pixel density

High-density screens (Apple Retina, most phones) pack 2× or 3× the physical pixels into each CSS pixel. An image shown in a 720px-wide slot on a 2× screen is actually drawn across 1440 pixels — so to look sharp it needs roughly twice the width you'd expect.

Pick a width around 2× the largest size the image will be displayed at on your site.

Why these numbers are bigger than the space the image sits in

With a fallback — only for pre-2020 browsers

Upload the downloaded .webp and point the src at where it actually lives — the snippet only fills in the file name.

Your whole site, automatically.

Bloomlight finds every oversized image on your key pages, and background sweeps check the other pages as capacity allows. It compresses them and tells you exactly what to replace — without you having to check manually.
